The Artists Marketplace program is an opportunity for member artists to display, demonstrate, and sell their art at the Carpinteria Arts Center’s courtyard. The goal of the Marketplace is to provide a venue to feature and promote original local art to support both artisans and the Arts Center. Live music in the afternoon by the Americana Cats, raffles of art from a featured artisan, and a children’s art table are often featured to enhance the camaraderie and festivity of the shows.
The Artists Marketplace event is held every first Saturday from 10:00 pm to 4:00 pm from April through December. (Excluding October, which is the date of the Carpinteria Avocado Festival.) The Marketplace features many different types of artists and artistry, including woodworking, basketry, photography, painting, sculpture, assemblage, printmaking, weaving and fiber arts, pottery, jewelry, bonsai, unique designs, and other locally handcrafted items.
