First, she will inspire you with a demo painting then give you guidance and critique as you make your own painting from a still life arrangement that will be specially set up by the artist. Beginner to intermediate students welcome! Students will learn the age-old art of fusing. You will create fused glass jewelry, garden art, and dishes. This is the perfect time of year to make handmade gifts. Shelly brings 25 years of experience as a fused-glass artist to our studio to teach this age-old art, which joins pieces of colorful glass together by melting it at high temperatures in an electric kiln. All supplies are included. Just bring your creative selves!

Explore sophisticated decorative and structural techniques so you can make the most of your polymer clay and combine it with other material for gorgeous effects. We will cover a spectrum of techniques including metallic effects, faux ivory and turquoise, surface treatments, mold making, sculpting, bead-making, jewelry, pictures, artist books, small vessels and boxes. Make amazing wire-wrapped pendants using your favorite beach stones, sea glass or crystals. Using round or square wire, explore two methods of wrapping stones. This method is not only creative but also an easy way to explore wire-wrapping methods. No experience required. All materials will be provided, but you may bring your own stones to wrap. Appropriate for all skill levels.

Experience oil painting in a new way as you reproduce Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers” in a step-by-step process with the guidance of a classically-trained fine arts instructor from Stroganov University in Moscow. You’ll learn about composition, mixing colors, and basic brush and palette knife techniques. All materials and tools will be provided and you will take home your finished 20”x 24” canvas. Class is solvent- and turpentine-free.
