Support a New Home for the Arts
The summer teen mural projects engages teens in creating public art.

The Carpinteria Arts Center is raising funds to purchase and renovate the former Cajun Kitchen building adjacent to its original Step One gallery and open courtyard space at 855 Linden Avenue in the heart of downtown Carpinteria.

The new facilities will include professional gallery spaces, studio and workshop space and a ceramics yard. There will also be a catering kitchen for special events, and the facility will be available to the community to rent for special events, corporate meetings, and weddings.

With the purchase and renovation of the 2,600 square foot building at 865 Linden Avenue, the Arts Center will preserve the large trees and outside courtyard that the community has come to use and enjoy over the past few years. When completed, the $3.1 million campaign will cover the purchase and improvements of the site and create a $500,000 endowment fund. The board hopes to reach the $3.1 million goal by the end of 2017 to avoid additional finance costs and get the project underway.

With nearly $2 million raised or pledged as of October, 2016, the campaign is well on its way, but we need the support of every arts lover on the South Coast to reach our goal.
